Malaria is serious health issue in Sidama. Many people, children, and pregnant women in the rural areas struck down by it and the problem is made worse here by a lack of awareness, misconceptions, low availability of nets, and low engagement of the community in control activities.
We use community dialogue and media advocacy method to increase the awareness of the community of malaria transmission and to use of available interventions such as nets and treatments. We also use school health clubs to enhance behavioral change activities in the community.
