Biography
As a psychiatrist-psychotherapist I have always been drawn to transdiagnostic methods that unlock our self-healing potential. Hence I pioneered mindfulness-based and compassion focused approaches to mental health. With Frits Koster, I developed Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL), a science-based follow-on program that builds on foundational mindfulness-based programs. Since I retired from clinical work, I am deeply grateful to continue teaching MBCL across the world.
Why I support the Compassion Coalition
I joined the GCC because I strongly feel cultivating compassion is what we need most in today's world, in which we face so many challenges. My heartful wish is to share the MBCL themes and practices, that prove to be of great value in easing our suffering, and developing healthier and happier relationships with ourselves, each other, and the world at large.
