Biography

Ignacio Morgado Bernal is a Emerit Professor of psychobiology in the Neuroscience Institute and the School of Psychology at Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). He has done studies and research at Ruhr Universität (Germany, 1978), Oxford University (United Kingdom, 1986) and Caltech (California, 2007). He teaches in Physiological psychology and makes experimental research on “Improvement and recovery of memory by intracranial electrical stimulation in normal and brain damaged rats”. Spanish society of psychology award (1982, doctoral thesis). He was founding Dean of the School of psychology and director of the Department of psychobiology and methodology of the health sciences (1998-2000), at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He was also director of the Neuroscience Institut between 2017 and 2019. He is a current member of the Spanish society of Neuroscience (SENC) and of the European Federation of neuroscience societies (FENS) and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the European Brain and Behaviour Society (EBBS).
