Biography
Kevin is finishing his Ph.D. in the Department of Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Center for Healthy Minds, where he has published numerous research articles investigating mindfulness- and compassion-based meditation practices and their relation to psychological well-being and pro-environmental behavior. Prior to his doctoral studies, Kevin worked in outdoor education, after-school programming, international development, and therapeutic farming communities; he also engaged in long-term Zen monastic training, including one year in silent retreat.
Why I support the Compassion Coalition
I support the Global Compassion Coalition because I believe we urgently need to build collaborative dialogue across cultures and disciplines to critically examine the role of compassion and how to promote it, as we work to build a better world for those who will call us ancestors.
