In an inspiring effort led by Meshach Bondzie, the National Coordinator for Connectors in Ghana, a recruitment and training session was held to expand the movement of compassion. The event took place in Kofi Kwei, where community members gathered to learn, share, and grow as Connectors.

A Gathering of Changemakers
Approximately 30 attendees participated in the session, with 21 staying until the end, including a notable presence—Hon. Ebenezer Ewusi, the Assemblyman for Kofi Kwei. Over the course of two hours, participants engaged in discussions on the power of compassion and how they could integrate it into their communities.
Key Impacts of the Training
This session went beyond just recruitment; it sparked meaningful transformations:
- Raising Awareness: Participants gained a deeper understanding of compassion and its role in strengthening communities.
- Fostering Local Ownership: The training encouraged local leaders and members to take initiative in sustaining compassion circles.
- Building Trust for GCC: Engaging conversations and personal storytelling helped establish credibility and trust for the Global Compassion Coalition in Kofi Kwei.
- Empowerment for Action: Attendees left with renewed confidence to cultivate compassion and promote collaborative solutions to address community needs.

Voices from the Community
The impact of this initiative was best expressed through the heartfelt testimonies of those who attended:
“Too often, we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Thanks to GCC.” – Rev. Ebenezer Okai, Head Pastor, Action Chapel International
“I personally think Global Compassion Coalition funding Movement for Connectors Ghana is a great idea. Helping them to reach communities like ours gives people like me the opportunity to join GCC, and I am so excited.” – Gettude Ewusi, sister of the Assemblyman for Kofi Kwei
Looking Ahead
With each training session, the movement for compassion grows stronger. The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by the people of Kofi Kwei show the power of these gatherings in fostering lasting change. As trust builds and awareness spreads, Connectors will continue to lead the way in creating more compassionate, united communities across Ghana.
