Background
The facilitator is a sociologist specializing in Social Psychology, with years of experience implementing meditation classes and programs in prisons and other socially excluded environments.
About the Project
The “Meditation and Compassion in Prisons” initiative involves weekly meditation classes in prisons. More recently, Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) programs have also been introduced.
The People
Despite the societal value crisis, the facilitator finds human values such as nobility, humility, sensitivity, and shared humanity explicitly present within the prison environment.
The Impact
CCT has proven to be a powerful program, helping participants cultivate compassion in their hearts and minds. It provides them with a personal and vital challenge over ten weeks, fostering commitment and growth as they follow the structured steps of the program.
