Connectors launch Cyclone Freddy emergency appeal

Omex, a Connector in Malawi, has set up a fundraising appeal to help the victims of Cyclone Freddy which devastated parts of the country in the spring.

It is estimated that around 80,000 lives were severely impacted by the cyclone. Houses, services, and crops were destroyed. Water contamination continues to be a major threat to life.

In response, Omex is working to try and provide a stable source of food for those who are working to rebuild their lives. He’s currently crowdfunding to buy maize flour for families in need. This is a staple of many people’s diets and can provide a rich source of calories at a time when food supplies are short.
