More than in 1 in 10 of Kenya’s children still struggle to attend primary school and just a quarter will go on to attend secondary.
That’s because endemic levels of poverty continue to constrain these children’s futures.
The need to work, lack of funds to pay school fees and for clothing and equipment, and poor-health created by malnutrition can present considerable barriers to education uptake.
Which is why a group of Connectors in Kenya, led by Connector Leonard, are helping to feed school children at the start and end of every school day.
By feeding these children, Kenya’s Connectors are not only improving their health – they are ensuring that they do not have to go out to work to grow or pay for food.
It is a wonderful example of how a community can pool it’s resources and skills in support of others.
