In South Sudan, where challenges of displacement, economic hardship, and social fragmentation persist, acts of compassion can make a profound difference. Recognizing this, our National Coordinator for Connectors in South Sudan recently organized a compassion training program in a refugee camp, designed to equip Connectors there with the knowledge and skills needed to better support their communities. The results have been transformative.
Strengthening Connections, Strengthening Communities
For the Connectors who participated, the training was more than just an educational experience—it was a catalyst for change. They learned how to navigate local resources, understand the barriers individuals face, and provide meaningful support to those in need. This newfound knowledge enabled them to bridge the gap between struggling community members and the assistance available to them.
One attendee, Sarah, reflected on the impact of the training: “I never knew how much compassion training could change my outlook on life. I feel more understanding and empathetic towards others now.”
Another participant, Basaar, emphasized how the training influenced his personal relationships: “I will improve my relationships with my friends and family. I am more patient and kinder towards others.”
