The article titled “Mindfulness-Based Interventions for Older Adults: A Review of the Effects on Physical and Emotional Well-Being” reviews the existing literature on the effects of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) on the physical and emotional well-being of older adults. The authors reviewed 11 studies on MBIs for older adults and found that the interventions were associated with improvements in physical health outcomes, such as chronic pain, hypertension, and diabetes, as well as improvements in emotional well-being, such as depression, anxiety, and stress. The authors suggest that MBIs could be a valuable intervention for promoting the well-being of older adults and reducing the burden of age-related health conditions. However, they also note that more research is needed to better understand the mechanisms by which MBIs influence health outcomes in older adults. Overall, the study highlights the potential of MBIs as a non-pharmacological intervention for promoting the well-being of older adults.
