Poorly children from across Zambia can be sent to Arthur Davison hospital in Ndola. This is what is known as a “referral” hospital – a unit specialising in support for children that takes patients from many of the surrounding regions.
Unfortunately a large number of the children who attend the hospital come from families with little or no means to pay for medical support or supplies.
That’s why Zambia’s Connectors, led by Daudi Magaba, has organized to visit the hospital, offering care and supplies to parents of the young patients.
Daudi’s team has focused on offering support to the parents who have had to travel furthest – knowing that they are far away from their homes and community.
They talk to the parents, showing their care and concern for their children, and organize to bring them tea, diapers, sugar, and washing powder.
With the parents experiencing a time of immense stress and concern, Daudi’s team are bringing them one of the best medicines they can – a sense of common humanity.
