On Wednesday 15th January 2025, Kassim Abdul, the Secretary of Tanzania Compassion Connectors, embarked on an important initiative to solidify the group’s strategy for 2025. Arriving in Dar es Salaam, in Eastern Tanzania, Abdul initiated a series of meetings with local Connectors to review past achievements and chart a path forward for the coming year.
The first day’s discussions focused on gathering and evaluating reports from Connectors, addressing key administrative tasks such as the documentation required to open a bank account, and collecting proposals for activities to be implemented this year. Four participants attended Wednesday’s meetings in person, representing the Dar es Salaam chapter. While others from more remote regions were unable to join due to the significant distances involved, Abdul emphasized the ongoing commitment to maintaining open communication and gathering input from all Connectors across Tanzania.

The momentum carried into Thursday, January 16th, as Abdul led the team through a day packed with pivotal activities. The morning began with the successful opening of the group’s bank account, a critical step toward formalizing operations and enabling streamlined financial management. Following this, the team reviewed and refined the ambitious slate of projects planned for 2025. The day’s work culminated in the creation of an annual Almanac, which will serve as a guiding schedule for all initiatives, ensuring focus and coordination throughout the year.
By January 17th, the meetings concluded with a strong sense of unity and purpose. Despite the geographical challenges, Abdul and his team engaged all Connectors to finalize plans and reach consensus on key resolutions for the year ahead. Among the agreed priorities were three flagship initiatives:
- Empowering Single Mothers: This project aims to improve the livelihoods of single mothers through counseling, vocational training, and entrepreneurship programs, equipping them with the tools to create sustainable futures.
- Education Support: A commitment to providing school fees and essential supplies for children in need, ensuring access to education for the most vulnerable.
- Awareness Campaigns: Targeted efforts focused on education, health, and skill development for youth, women, and the wider community, fostering long-term growth and awareness.
These transformative initiatives will be implemented across four regions, with each quarter of the year dedicated to a specific region. The year’s efforts will culminate in December with a General Meeting in Morogoro, central-east Tanzania, where Connectors will come together to review progress, share successes, and celebrate the collective impact of their work.
Reflecting on the week’s accomplishments, Abdul expressed optimism about the future, noting that 2025 holds the promise of transformation for communities across Tanzania. With a clear strategy, coordinated efforts, and a shared vision, the Tanzania Compassion Connectors are poised to make a lasting difference in the lives of those they serve.
